What will happen in a session?

During your appointment with Anita, she will observe you without judgment and note how you do whatever you do. She will see what you’re doing well and she will help you notice how you may be interfering with yourself. She often will use her hands gently and respectfully to help you let go of anything that is consciously or unconsciously getting in your way.  In each session, you will acquire tools that will allow you to let go of limiting patterns and discover easier choices that will lead to ease of movement and thought.

Many students feel relaxed and uplifted after a session. Gradually, through awareness and practice, you will learn to move beyond old habits and into a new way of being in the world.

I have been working with Anita for over a year and she has been absolutely instrumental in my healing process. Her ability to intuit the right path for a session is often amazing to me, and in my experience, very effective. Having come from a childhood riddled with sexual abuse, I had tried a lot of different healing modalities (somatic experiencing, reiki, talk therapy) and all had helped, but what was different and revelatory about the work I have done with Anita, is that it has been both deep and GENTLE. That last part has been crucial. As a survivor of a lot of trauma, the patterns in my body-mind of being used-to being overwhelmed by sensation are strong. I had the experience of releasing trauma in her attentive and healing presence and NOT being overwhelmed in the process. Very rarely I would have some aftershock reactions, which Anita was always there to help me settle from or process through, either on the phone or in person. Lastly, she is a wizard at dropping in body knowledge (with her well-worn Albinus On Anatomy book.) And as I have become more free from trauma in my body (hallelujah), she has helped me immensely in opening up to the pleasurable aspects of being in a body, with small but massively impactful spinal alignment suggestions and assistance. I feel forever grateful to have had the good fortune to work with Anita, she is a gifted guide towards wellness, and a beautiful, full-of-light human.
